Newbies Hints and Tips – Working Your New Internet Business

April 29th, 2010

So – you’re NEW to this business? So – you need to know where to begin…

You want to sell your products to a hungry market, but where is your hungry market? You need to know which Niche you are going to address, and you need to know this before you create your first product to sell. It’s probably not going to be that easy or straightforward – at least not in the beginning. That’s where you need help! Ask your self a few questions:

What are your preconceptions about this business? Maybe you should throw these out – now. Most people imagine (before they begin any new business) exactly what they think they want. They imagine exactly how they think their new business will work for them. But – in reality it hardly ever happens that way.

Time and time again I’ve seen people jump right in at the deep end – before carefully considering the consequences.

So, you are now starting your Internet Marketing business, and you are all fired up and ready to go. That’s great. But what’s going to happen next week, or next month? Maybe you will be slowing down, running out of steam, and seemingly not getting anywhere. Why is this? What is your problem? Are you stuck with something? Don’t worry, all newbies get stuck from time to time, it’s really quite normal.

So what now – which way to turn? Have you written down your goals? It’s so important to do this.

Do make realistic goals – for instance don’t write: “by this time next year I’ll be a millionaire” – as unless you win the Lottery this is really most unlikely. So write a few simple goals, and be sure to achieve them!

Remember that well-known saying: “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail”.

Set yourself your daily schedule, and stay focused. You will have an amazing sense of satisfaction upon achieving one task you have set yourself! Everyone suffers from writers block – especially newbies. But when you need inspiration just take a sheet of paper – or open up the laptop – and just write something – anything! It doesn’t have to be “good” or “clever” – but just start writing. Then you’ll find suddenly you ARE writing something good! Carry a notebook and pencil around with you. This is something I always do. Then when I get one of those magic moments – you know – like when someone switches on a light bulb in your head – and I think: “that’s it!” – I write it down.

Yes, you can get other people to write your product, and yes, you can get other people to write your sales letter. However, to start with I personally do believe it’s better to do your own work – to create your own unique produce, and to write your own unique sales letter. Not only will this be your own unique work, but also it will be a lot less expensive for you!

Of course it will take a little practice, but you WILL get there with a little application and perseverance. No, you most probably won’t become an overnight success. If you ask any successful Internet Marketer they will tell you it’s been a lot of hard work to get where they are today. But surely something that is too easily achieved isn’t going to be worth the achievement – that’s my motto!

Most important of all, treat this as a FUN business! After all, it IS fun. The words you put down on paper will being in many thousands of dollars, which to anybody’s way of thinking has got to be fun, for sure!

Internet Marketing – 5 Ways to Boost AdSense Income

April 2nd, 2010

Early in an Internet marketing person’s career, they usually learn the value of using Google AdSense. You know the ads that seem to blend into the page, as if they’re part of the design? Those are AdSense ads, and if you make them part of your website or blog, when someone clicks on an ad, you’ll be paid.

You could earn tons of cash in some niches. Advertisers using the keyword “dog,” for example, pay $12 thousand to more than $22 thousand per day for their clicks. If you’re in the dog niche, you may do very well with Google’s ad system.

But Internet marketing is full of niches, and you may not be in a niche that’s as popular. Then what can you do?

These 5 Ways will help you to pick up your AdSense earning, no matter what Internet marketing niche you’re in:

1. Be sure to use the colors in your website or blog when designing your ads. For example, if your website is primarily white, you want ads with white backgrounds and white borders. That way, the ads will blend right into the page and appear to be content. People tend to click on these ads more often, which means more money for you.

2. Get the ads on top of your pages, don’t hide them way down at the bottom of the page. If people can’t see them, how can they click? Everything that’s important in your Internet marketing website or blog should be “above the fold.”

3. Install a Google search box. Then, when someone searches from your site, ads that apply to the keywords the person searched for will appear on the search results pages. When someone clicks, you’re paid.

4. Refer other Internet marketing webmasters to AdSense. Get referral commissions.

5. Combine AdSense and You Tube. Get video content for your site, which is shown alongside appropriate ads. Clickers bring you more cash.

All 5 of these are great ways to get more income for your Internet marketing business. Hire someone to install the code for you, if you aren’t a tech person. However, it’s pretty easy and Google’s directions are fairly complete.

If your Internet marketing business isn’t already using AdSense, try it. Before you apply, you’ll need a website or blog to put the ads on. And when approved, be sure to stick to Google’s terms of service. Advertising your page in the wrong way or clicking on your own ads could cause you to lose your account.

Still, monetizing your website or blog with Google AdSense is a wise decision. The minute you get your blog or website going, go over to Google and apply to be accepted into the program. Then, start driving traffic to your site. Your income from AdSense won’t be huge to start, but as your website grows, the income you receive from Google will increase with it.

6 Internet Marketing Truths For the New Internet Entrepreneur

March 28th, 2010

In 2009, it would be downright foolish to deny that using the internet for promotion is a major part of almost every successful entrepreneurial effort. Here are 6 internet marketing truths that every new internet entrepreneur must know:

One: It’s all about Google!

When it comes to marketing your project online, the reality of the matter is that at least 80% of the attention you attract is likely to begin with Google. Whether you’re taking part in optimizing for the best possible organic search results, relying on Local listings, or using the Google AdWords program to purchase targeted traffic for your site, it’s no secret who the number one player in the web traffic market is.

Two: Social Networking is here to stay.

Some folks have been dismissing social networking platforms like Facebook and Twitter as a fad-ultimately saying that there’s no need to waste your time and effort with them. This couldn’t be any less true. While it will continue to evolve, social networking is here to stay and any new internet entrepreneur serious about their venture must partake.

Three: You’ve got to learn to write for the web.

If you’ll be doing any business over the web at all (and these days, who’s not?), you’ll need to brush up on your writing skills, particularly to adjust to the web. While the tactics will vary depending on your niche and the reasons for your written communication, as a generality, web writing tends to be much more conversational than traditional business communication.

Four: Not all websites are created equal.

Remember the old saying, “all show, no go?” It’s easy to get carried away while launching a new web presence. In particular, getting too caught up in graphics and the “look” of a website is a common pitfall. While these components of a website are indeed important, it’s essential to place appropriate emphasis on the actual content and usability of the website too.

Five: A website doesn’t ensure automatic success.

A website is the hub of any winning internet marketing campaign. With this in mind, it’s a good idea to remember that just launching a site and then expecting positive results to begin happening immediately is not likely to take place. Effective websites are promoted and encouraged to succeed by every facet of an active internet marketing campaign. It’s not rocket science, but it does require hard work.

Six: You don’t need to pay someone thousands of dollars for SEO.

Organic search optimization is an incredible free traffic driving strategy, but you can learn the essentials of SEO yourself. Literally everything you need to know about SEO can be learned in a day or two with a good tutorial. Are you familiar with the 80/20 rule? Well when it comes to SEO, the 80% that produces results is based on common sense-the remaining 20% is just likely to cause more trouble that it’s worth.

When done correctly, internet marketing offers the best return on your investment possible-every new internet entrepreneur should take the time to learn the ropes.
